At Nailed By Lucie, we believe that helping techs to use our products is the way forward . Our mission is to provide a simple easy educational page, to not only see how to get the best out of each product, but also to show any new Designs that are currently trending xXx

Isolated Chrome Tutorial

Step 1

The First step in Creating Perfect Isolated Chrome Designs is to start with a nice even base, Chrome Really does Highlight any lumps bumps or dust on the nail so ensuring the foundation is perfect is key.

Step 2

Once Nail (biab, acrylic, gel, polygel) is Filed and buffed with a fine buffer,  Its Time to Matte Top Coat, if your Matte has A sticky Inhibition Layer this needs removing before the next step.

Step 3

On Clean Wiped Matte Top Coat, Use the FINEST Buffer you own, the absolute finer the better, and Buff the ENTIRE nail, dust off and wipe any dust residue after.

Step 4

Now we can go in with a Black Gel or Top Coat to Paint the design we want to adhere the chrome to, The best Gels to Use are Gels with no Sticky layer, these include our

OC Range and specific art gels. The chrome at this point will only stick to where we paint. CURING - All gels will require different cure times, always test any new gels you buy, to work out the best time for the mirror finish, always put the nail back into the lamp after chroming to ensure gel has been in for the length of time it needs if any time has been deducted.

Step 5

After the Gel has been cured its now time to Chrome, When using any chrome its important to use as little as possible, this will not only help the product go a lot further, but leave less mess on and around the nail and skin, once rubbed in dust off any excess chrome.

Step 6

Its now time to Top Coat, Although this might not seem like an important step, this step is vital to ensure the chrome stays put, when going in with the first brush make sure the brush has enough product on it so you are not pulling the chrome off the design. A dry brush can pull the chrome off leaving patches. Once applied cure and you are set!!
